Communication & Interaction at Hall School
At Hall School we aim to ‘ensure all pupils have access to systems which support, develop and extend their communication and learning to their full potential through a ‘Total Communication’ approach.’
The school has been awarded specialist status for Communication and Interaction due to the work and dedication that takes place throughout the school, as well as the outreach support we have provided for other settings.
‘Total Communication’ is an approach to education that allows accessibility for a range of needs and abilities, it uses several modes of communication including; speech, sign language, visual aids including symbols & pictures, facial expression, gesture and speech generating devices.
Our dedicated Communication & Interaction Team, work alongside the class staff and professionals to support each students communication needs. They can often be found working with groups or individuals to implement strategies, creating personalised resources for home/school, training staff, liaising with professionals and much more.
We would love to share with you the strategies that are used throughout the school and so would encourage you to view the related pages. If you have any queries, or would like some more information please contact us at office@hall.norfolk.sch.uk.
